What changed: for the 2026 tax year the government extended the Land and Building Tax timetable. Assessment notices moved from April to May, payment from June to July, and instalments now run through July, August and September.
Who it affects: every property owner, including foreign condo owners, who must pay the annual tax to their local authority.
What to do: watch for your notice, check you've been assessed in the right category (main home, second home or other use), and pay by the July deadline. See our Land and Building Tax guide.
